Here's your weekly look at Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church — Prayers for the Church Thursday evening, a Pancake Breakfast before worship Sunday, and prayers for our congregation and community.
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
Here is a look at what’s happening at Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church this week.
A Word for This Week
This will be my third visit to you. “Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.” I already gave you a warning when I was with you the second time. I now repeat it while absent: On my return I will not spare those who sinned earlier or any of the others, since you are demanding proof that Christ is speaking through me. He is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful among you. For to be sure, he was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God’s power. Likewise, we are weak in him, yet by God’s power we will live with him in our dealing with you.
Gracious God, we give thanks that your power is made perfect even in human weakness.
As Paul proclaimed to the Corinthians, Christ was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by your power. By that same power we too live in him.
As we gather this week for prayer, worship, and fellowship, remind us that you are not absent or distant but powerful among us.
When we feel weak or uncertain, let this truth anchor us: we live with Christ by your power. In Jesus name, Amen.
New This Week
This past weekend we shared a new sermon from our September 13 service — Seventy Times Seven: The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant, a reflection on Matthew 18:21–35 and why Jesus answered Peter’s question about forgiveness with a story about a debt no one can repay — and a King who cancels it.
