TCLC News - October 14, 2026
This week: WELCA gathers Wednesday, Mark Haynes leads worship Sunday with a potluck after, and a reminder to wear red for Reformation Sunday on October 25.
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
Here is a look at what’s happening at Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church this week.
A Word for This Week
Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God. Demetrius is well spoken of by everyone—and even by the truth itself. We also speak well of him, and you know that our testimony is true.
Gracious God, John warns of one who refused to welcome others and urges us instead to imitate what is good.
Make Triumphant Cross a place where every believer and every neighbor is welcomed, as you have welcomed us in Christ.
As we gather this week for fellowship, prayer, and worship, let our lives speak well of you, so that others may see your truth in us. Amen.
Wear Red for Reformation Sunday — October 25
Mark your calendars: Sunday, October 25 is Reformation Sunday, and everyone is invited to wear red! Red is the color of the Holy Spirit and of the Reformation, reminding us that the Spirit continues to renew Christ’s Church. Cindy Manning will lead worship that morning. To brush up on one of the great themes of the Reformation, read Sola Gratia Defined.
New This Week
The Parable of the Wedding Feast and the Gift of the Robe — Reflections on Pastor Kay’s sermon on Matthew 22:1-14: the doors are open to everyone, and the robe is a gift we are meant to wear beyond Sunday morning.
Meet Pastor Kay — The Rev. Kathleen Yates now has a page on our Church Staff listing.
