TCLC News - August 12, 2026

This week at Triumphant Cross: a backpack blessing, a sermon reflection on faith, and prayers for our congregation as we head into the week.

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!

Here is a look at what’s happening at Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church this week.

A Word for This Week

20 “Gather together and come;
  assemble, you fugitives from the nations.
Ignorant are those who carry about idols of wood,
  who pray to gods that cannot save.
21 Declare what is to be, present it—
  let them take counsel together.
Who foretold this long ago,
  who declared it from the distant past?
Was it not I, the Lord?
  And there is no God apart from me,
  a righteous God and a Savior;
  there is none but me.
22 “Turn to me and be saved,
  all you ends of the earth;
  for I am God, and there is no other.
23 By myself I have sworn,
  my mouth has uttered in all integrity
  a word that will not be revoked:
Before me every knee will bow;
  by me every tongue will swear.
24 They will say of me,
  ‘In the Lord alone are deliverance and strength.’”
25 All who have raged against him.
  will come to him and be put to shame. 26 But all the descendants of Israel
  will find deliverance in the Lord.
  and will make their boast in him.

Isaiah 45:20-25 (NIV)

Gracious God, you alone are righteous and you alone are Savior.

As we move through this week, turn our hearts toward you — away from the distractions and lesser things that compete for our trust.

You have spoken a word that will not be revoked: every knee will bow, every tongue will confess.

May we bow willingly this week, in faith and in gratitude, finding in you our deliverance and our strength. Amen.

Prayers for Our Church

We lift the following to God in prayer:

Wednesday, August 12

  • Prayers for WELCA, 6:30 PM - Gracious God, we thank you for the women gathered here tonight. Bless their fellowship — the laughter, the honest conversation, and the care they show for one another and for this congregation. Guide their work, stir their hearts with your Spirit, and send them home strengthened in faith and friendship.

Thursday, August 13

  • Prayers for the Church, 6:00 PM — Lord, gather us as we come before you in prayer; send your Holy Spirit to guide and bless all who participate, and may our voices rise together as one.

Sunday, August 16

  • Worship, 10:00 AM — Bless all who lead and all who gather this Sunday; may our worship echo the great song of the Lamb described in Revelation.
  • Fellowship, 11:00 AM — Thank and bless those who prepare and serve; may our time together deepen our bonds as a community of faith.
