TCLC News - September 23, 2026
This week: Sunday worship with a Fellowship, new posts on Lutheran communion theology and full communion churches in Dothan, and prayers for our congregation.
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
Here is a look at what’s happening at Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church this week.
A Word for This Week
“Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you - who are you to judge your neighbor? Now listen, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.’ Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, ‘If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.’”
Lord of all wisdom, remind us this week that you alone are judge of our neighbors and of ourselves.
As we face the uncertainty of tomorrow, keep us from boasting in our own plans and help us hold every hour with open hands, saying, “If it is the Lord’s will.”
In the midst of our busyness, quiet us enough to remember that we are but a mist, and you are the eternal one.
May we live this week with humility, trust, and gratitude. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
