What Full Communion Means
Full communion is more than a friendly relationship. According to the ELCA, it means two churches recognize each other as genuine expressions of the one church of Jesus Christ. Members of full communion churches are welcome at the Lord’s table at Triumphant Cross, and vice versa. It is a visible sign of the unity Christ prayed for in John 17:21.
