Three cherished souls, one afternoon of gathering, and a promise that love outlasts every goodbye. Family and friends are invited to a committal service in Midland City this Sunday, October 25, to honor and lay to rest Rosemarie Ference, Elsie Siefried, and Gregory Ference.
Rosemarie was a beloved member of Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church who passed away five years ago. We are grateful to share in this moment of remembrance with her family.

Gathering in Love
In the words of the invitation, “We gather in love to honor three cherished souls and place them in their final resting place. In this sacred moment of remembrance, renewal, and gentle completion, we are reminded that love lives on, grace still surrounds us, and the bonds of the heart are never broken.”
A committal is a quiet and holy moment. It is the time when we entrust those we love to God’s keeping and return their earthly remains to the ground. It does not end our grief, but it gives that grief a place to rest, surrounded by people who share it.
Hope That Holds
As Lutherans, we commit our loved ones “in sure and certain hope of the resurrection.” That hope is not wishful thinking. It rests on the promise Jesus spoke at the grave of his friend Lazarus: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die” (John 11:25). Paul reminds us that we grieve, but not “like the rest of mankind, who have no hope” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14).
So on Sunday afternoon we will remember, we will give thanks, and we will hold on to one another, trusting that the God who gave us these three lives still holds them now.
Holding the Family in Prayer
Whether or not you are able to attend this committal service in Midland City, we invite you to keep the Ference and Siefried families in your prayers this week. If you or your family would like prayer or pastoral care during a time of loss, the people of Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church are here to walk alongside you.
Forever remembered. Forever loved.
